For the third year already, within DEF, films compete for the title of winner in two categories: Best Film Debut and Best Music Film, for the best film debut and the best music film of the past year.

The competition show for the best European debut consists of a dramaturgical selection of solid and stimulating European debuts from the last year. This year's winners will be determined by a jury composed of Ivo Andrle, Ester Geislerová a Jakub Jíra.

Images, tones and melodies set the rhythm for the avant-garde-oriented section, documentaries and feature films in which music plays a leading role. These judges will choose the winning film this year: Alžbeta Ferencová, Einari Paakkanen a David Žbirka.
